WEEDING WORKSHOP at Peterborough Town Library
Collection Maintenance Workshop
This workshop will examine best practice approaches to weeding and developing strong collections. Practical hands-on examples, best practices, and tools and resources will be shared. The workshop will also cover tips on weeding local history collections, creating a weeding mindset, and avoiding controversy with the public.
The two-hour class will be held at the Peterborough Town Library and available as both an in-person or online class.
Corinne Chronopoulos is the Director of the Peterborough Town Library. In 2020, she managed a collection-wide weeding project to ready over 30,000 books to be moved to temporary quarters and moved back once the library renovation was completed. Over 9,000 items were removed without controversy!
Please note there will be 3 weeding classes offered in fall 2023; Meredith, Peterborough and Merrimack. These are NOT a series. Pick the class most convenient to you.
This presentation is sponsored by the NHLA Paralibrarian Section and is open to members and non-members. Attendees can join in person or virtually. In person attendance is limited to 20 people.
Cost: $10 NHLA Paralibrarian members $15 NHLA members/guest
