READS Roundtable: Controversial Programs
April 17 10am-noon
Portsmouth Public Library

More and more, public libraries have found themselves in the center of controversy because they hosted or sponsored an event which provoked public comment or disagreement. READS invites you to join your colleagues across the state to discuss

  • the library's role in public discussion
  • how to plan for a potentially controversial event
  • best practices for handling public comment

READS plans to have NH librarians who have organized controversial programs at each roundtable to give a firsthand viewpoint and practical tips.

READS members $10, NHLA members/guests $15

We encourage you to pay online. If paying by check, make it payable to NHLA and send to Eileen Gilbert, Belmont Public Library PO Box 308 Belmont NH 03220 (van stop: Belmont).

NHLA Cancellation Policy

Questions about registration should be directed to Eileen Gilbert, READS program committee.

Parking is available in the lot across from the main entrance, in the side lot along Currier Place, and in the Town of Hanover Parking Garage diagonally across from the library. You can get a voucher from the library for one free hour of parking in the Parking Garage.
